Aluminium hydroxide, Al(OH)₃, is found in nature as the mineral gibbsite and its three much rarer polymorphs: bayerite, doyleite, and nordstrandite. Aluminium hydroxide is amphoteric, it has both basic and acidic properties. Closely related are aluminium oxide hydroxide, AlO(OH), and aluminium oxide or alumina (Al₂O₃), the latter of which is also amphoteric.
Aluminum hydroxide is used to treat heartburn, upset stomach, sour stomach, or acid indigestion. Aluminum hydroxide is also used to reduce phosphate levels in people with certain kidney conditions.
Aluminum hydroxide may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
 

Usage

Adding aluminum hydroxide to artificial marble will make the product bright, smooth surface, good stain resistance, wear resistance, impact resistance, anti-aging, high structural strength. Artificial stone flame retardant by containing three water molecules of aluminum hydroxide, it does not produce toxic and corrosive gas when pyrolysis; Pyrolytic heat absorption and release of water vapor, flame retardant and self - extinguishing ability. If the aluminum hydroxide content reaches 30% and the mesh (a measure of particle size) reaches 2,000 mesh, then such artificial stone is of good quality
