Product Introduction:
Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate commonly known as alum, is a blue-green crystal or particles, mainly used for iron fertilizer, pesticides, pigments, medicine, etc., in addition to chromatographic analysis reagents. It is a by-product of the sulfuric acid process in the production of a rare metal product. The product is a light green or yellowish-green crystalline solid.
Product Features:
The color of ferrous sulfate heptahydrate is green, monoclinic crystal or particle, no odor, relative density 1.898, melting point 64ºC. Easily soluble in water, (48.6g/100ml water at 50ºC) red heat decomposition to form ferric trioxide, soluble in glycerol, insoluble in ethanol, corrosive, in dry air will be weathered. At 56.6ºC, the heptahydrate is transformed into tetrachlates, and at 64.6ºC, it becomes monohydrate. At 90ºC, six crystalline water is lost, and at 300ºC, all crystalline water is lost to form anhydrous substance. At red heat, SO2 and SO3 are decomposed and released. It's corrosive. It fluoresces in dry air. The anhydrous substance is a white powder, but when it is mixed with water it turns blue-green.
Product Application
1.Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate has good decolorization ability and flocculation effect,which can be used in wastewater treatment.
2.It can be used to remove heavy metal ions,oik removal,phosphorus removal,sterilization and other functions.
3.It can be used as reducing agent to treat electroplating plant wastewater.
4.Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate can also be used as pesticide and fertilizer in agriculture.
